The eddy current separator, also known as a non-ferrous metal separator, is a versatile waste metal sorting equipment widely used in the recycling industry. Its name stems from its ability to sort non-ferrous metals, primarily copper and aluminum. As per our standard practice, all machines undergo rigorous field trials before being delivered to our customers. Following a successful trial period, the machine was shipped from China and arrived at the recycling station in Germany within one month, where it was promptly installed and put into operation.
The eddy current separator operates based on the principle that conductors generate induced currents when exposed to a high-frequency alternating magnetic field. During operation, a high-frequency alternating magnetic field is generated on the surface of the separation magnetic roller. When a non-ferrous metal passes through this magnetic field, it induces eddy currents within the metal due to its conductivity. These eddy currents generate a magnetic field that opposes the original magnetic field. Consequently, non-ferrous metals such as copper and aluminum experience a repulsive force and are propelled forward in the direction of transportation. This effectively separates them from non-conductive or non-metallic materials, facilitating efficient sorting.
